2024 CAMCA Forum Report Released

The official report highlighting the events of the 10th annual CAMCA (Central Asia-Mongolia-Caucasus-Afghanistan) Regional Forum held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic on June 12th-13th, 2024 was recently released.

Organized by the CAMCA Network (the formal alumni organization of the CAMCA Fellowship Program), the Rumsfeld Foundation and the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute, the 2024 Forum convened over 300 experts and professionals from 25 countries around the globe – from across the entire CAMCA region as well as from the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and beyond – to discuss opportunities, challenges and recent developments throughout the region in relation to this year’s Forum theme: "CAMCA's Way Forward: Advancing Through Innovation and Strengthened Intraregional Ties."

Keynote speakers included H.E. Edil Baisalov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic; Ambassador Terhi Hakala, EU Special Representative to Central Asia; and H.E. Nuria Kutnaeva, Minister of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic. Other panelists represented top industry leaders and experts from organizations like MIT, Google, Big Sky Capital, American University of Central Asia, German Marshall Fund of the U.S., International Energy Agency, IFC, CIPE, U.S. Institute of Peace, Baku International Sea Trade Port and many more. Representatives of 16 regionally focused companies and organizations also participated in the Forum's Business Expo, showcasing some of their unique products and initiatives across the CAMCA region.

Apart from the official sessions, the Forum also included several sideline events and activities including MOU signing ceremonies between the Investment Council under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic with Capital Markets (based in Mongolia), Kanna Group Ltd (based in Azerbaijan) and an ASEAN delegation (based in Malaysia), signaling new opportunities for both intraregional and international partnership and development; the 2024 ESTEC Conference at the American University of Central Asia organized by the CAMCA Academic Consortium for attendees interested in the current and future regional higher education landscape; as well as several cultural performances and entertainment throughout several events for guests to experience unique Kyrgyz traditions and hospitality.

Developed as a platform to advance regional dialogue and cooperation, the CAMCA Regional Forum is a premier annual convening for international leaders and professionals from across all sectors to discuss and leverage opportunities for economic and civil society development.
